Note: Reviewing prior to ownership change in Sep/Oct 2018. I enjoy this place! This was my third visit. It was a random weekday night around 7:30pm so the waitress had time to be very attentive. Every time I've gotten the Combo Platter. This time I had the beef brisket (again, because it's so great) and the Memphis ribs, which fell off the bone. There are three different sauces and all are tasty - alone AND mixed together. The cornbread is moist but not too crumbly and the brownie sundae is delightful (definitely split it though). The corn fritters were good, but a bit sweeter than I would have liked. I think ranch dressing also isn't the best sauce to go with the fritters. On the whole, it's really quite nice to have tasty bbq available in this region of the state.
If you're searching for an off the beaten path hidden delicious bbq joint, this is the place to be. Their cocktail specials are very decent, and I highly recommend getting one of their platters so that you can try several different types of bbq. The sweet bbq sauce is delicious, and their cornbread is legit. Also recommend their chicken wings and corn poppers. Ok, just try everything here, because your taste buds will thank you. If you have room for dessert (my friends and I came in with a game plan) split the ooey gooey brownie with vanilla ice cream sundae and you will never regret anything ever again because this sundae is what you've been looking for and you never knew it.
I have passed this place a million times. Needed a break from the regular fare of pizza in Moodus. Was glad to have finally walked in. Friendly staff, clean restaurant and restrooms. Good menu for sure. The Mac and Cheese and Cornbread were delicious. I got a meal where I could choose two "meats" and 1 side and it also comes with a substantial house salad and cornbread. I got the half chicken and the pulled pork and mashed sweet potatoes. All around good good and delicious!!! Plenty for leftovers as the half-chicken was quite huge. Great waitress, Ashlee, managed the busy dining room nicely with a smile. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will come back soon when the weather allows us to sit outside.
